De Havilland Vampire T.11
Airfix
1:72
kit no: A02058
build time: November 25 2017 - December 5 2017

Well, the problem with the masking off was fixed, the  left wing was-remasked and re-sprayed so the orange color is the way it's supposed to be. There's a small line that shows up, but it's barely visible.

And then it's time for decals. Cartograph decals, can't go wrong there.

Wrong.

Somehow I managed to do this:

Maybe this build is cursed....

And, after putting on the British roundels - yes, definately cursed.

Yes - the white isn't opaque enough :(

Oh well, on we move. Time to put the decals on the back end of the canopy. As you can see in the photo below, there's two windows on the left and right side, and the center section needs decals to go on.

Erm. Wait a sec - decals on the glasswork? That can't be right, can it?

Nope, it's not. I shouldn't have masked off that bit and just painted it. *sigh*  Guess I'll remove that mask, respray that bit too, and then put on the decals.
Still - that does mean an extra 2 nights work.

Anyways - the topside is now all decalled up, except for that bit around the canopy. Next time, we move on with the repainting and the decals on the underside
Which will probably be Thursday at it's earliest.
