And then we end up with the biggest secret of all. Perhaps you thought the party was already over, but no such luck! We need to add the invasion stripes, roundels and serials.
So, we mask off, spray on the white color for the invasion stripes, do some more masking, and spray on the black. Remove tape, and done.
And if you were thinking: why all the weathering - this way there won't be any on the invasion stripes! Well, that's how it's supposed to be I gather. These aircraft were used before D-Day, so weathering is in place. Then the night before D-Day the stripes were painted on, so they received almost no weathering at all.
